Chef Travis Phillips hails from Peterborough, Canada and trained in New York City at esteemed restaurants Tocqueville and Sumile. Travis came to the British Virgin Islands 8 years ago, and took over as Chef at the Dove Restaurant in 2008. Travis’ intelligent menus and sharp culinary skills have made the Dove Restaurant one of the top rated restaurants in the Caribbean. Chef Phillips marries the French and Japanese training he received in NYC and incorporates Caribbean ingredients and knowledge to create the inventive menus that the Dove is so well known for.
Under Chef Phillips the Dove has won numerous awards including Best Restaurant in the BVI (2011 and 2012). As well as local praise, Chef Phillips has been featured in many international publications such as American Eagle’s Latitudes, Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Times.
Over his tenure at the Dove, Chef Phillips has had the honour of working with many great Chefs and Winemakers and is thrilled to be a part of the BVI Food & Wine Festival.
