Chef Kunal grew up traveling and enjoying the foods of his native India with his Parents who had a love for great food. He chose the artistic world of Pastry as his career, after finishing studying Hotel Management from a premier hospitality school in India. His early experience included, training at “The Oberio New Delhi”, pre-opening team member for “Hyatt Regency Kolkata”.
In the fall of 2004, Chef Kunal moved to Dubai to work at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai as a Pastry Supervisor & quickly climbed the ladder.

In 2007, he was transferred to newly renovated The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas as the Assistant Pastry Chef. He was promoted to Pastry Chef in 2008 and continued to fulfill the sweet needs of guests at both the resort and the Ritz Carlton Destination Club till October 2012. Chef Kunal has assumed the responsibility of the Pastry Chef at the “Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve” in Puerto Rico, as the opening management team member since November 2012.

Chef Kunal has attended several pastry training & workshops in different parts of Asia, France & U.S.A. He competed in several culinary competitions, such as Middle East Chef Championship, Emirates Salon Culinaire in Dubai and “Taste of the Caribbean” in Puerto Rico & Miami. He received several medals in different categories of these competitions. In the Year 2011, he received Gold Medal for individual pastry competition and the coveted “Pastry Chef of the Year” award. He has also been inducted into the Taste of the Caribbean “Hall of Fame”; an elite club of a handful of food & beverage professionals from all over the Caribbean. Chef Kunal has also won the “Rising Star – Award for Culinary Excellence” by “The Ritz-Carlton Hotels” and “Marriot International” for the North America, South America & Caribbean together for the year 2010. Chef Kunal is actively involved in the community, volunteering to support the Boys & Girls Club, Special Olympics and the Humane Society.
